Faithful Followers: An Introduction

Another month, another topic. This month we are doing something different. This month we offer you: characters studies of people from the Bible. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime offer to see some key biblical figures come alive on this blog. Nah, I’m just joking; once the posts are up you’ll be able to look at each character whenever you want (well, whenever you have an internet connection.)

So here’s how it works: Since we can’t cover all the characters from the Bible, so we will be using this guideline:

“But you, man of God flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.” 1 Timothy 6:11

A character was then chosen for each of the traits mentioned above. Simple enough, right?

Now, why are we doing this? Maybe we’re bored, but this is highly unlikely. No, we are doing this because it is important to study the people mentioned in the Bible. Why? Well you see, it’s really easy for someone to say: “be righteous” or “be gentle”. It is, however, an entirely different matter to know how to be righteous or gentle! If you have a role model to show you though, it’s much easier. This is exactly what we are trying to do this month; We want to tell you about people who we think got the traits from 1 Timothy right!

The articles to follow are going to look at these characters in depth, and sketch you a picture of them so to speak. You’re going to learn about ordinary people who showed great character in what they did because they loved God and wanted to serve Him.

I hope each and every one of you learns something new, and that you are encouraged to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and faithfulness by looking at the extraordinary things that God has done through ordinary people. The team has an awesome line-up planned for you!
