God is Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent

Omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence are abstract concepts, something that boggles our minute brains. Abstract concepts can be hard to grasp. I am studying on adolescent development now; a crucial part of the development of any human being is to grasp abstract concepts.

Let’s get back to basics here – what does it even mean?

Omni is derived from the Latin word meaning: all.

Omnipotent ~ all-powerful

Omniscient ~ all-knowing

Omnipresent ~ all-present

Now, the impact of these meanings is a lot to consider; to some extent, it’s too much to take in. As humans, we can’t understand everything. The Bible says that, without faith, it is impossible to please God. That means believing in what you can’t see. That means accepting what His Word teaches you and making the evident proof of the truth a reality in your life.

If we were to live lives full of faith, just think what it would do in our relationships with the Lord! Just think of the impact it will have on how you live your life!

What would it do in your life if you were constantly aware of the fact that God is all-powerful? Would you attempt to testify of His goodness more often? Would you dare tell that rebellious, rough friend of yours about the truths of the Lord? Would you risk defending your faith in front of thousands as you choose to honor the Lord by being holy in this very liberal and ‘freeing’ world? Well, then maybe this is for you today – GOD IS OMNIPOTENT.

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37 NKJV)

“For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27 NKJV)

“Why is it considered incredible among you people that God raise men from the dead?” (Acts 26:8 NKJV)

What would it do in your life today if you started living with the awareness that God is all-knowing? He knows about the pain that friend inflicted on your weary heart. He knows about the evil thought you wished upon the bully’s head. He knows about the secret sins that no one would ever guess or know about you. Well, here is the second truth of the matter: GOD IS OMNISCIENT.

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13 NKJV)

“O, LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, O LORD, YOU know it altogether.” (Psalm 139:1-4 NKJV)

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.” (Isaiah 40:28 NKJV)

How would you change your outlook on life if you accepted the fact that God is all-present? Through the valleys of the shadow of death, He is there. During the times of severe trials and testing, He is there. During times of temptation and falling into sin, He is there. During times of victory and celebration, guess who is celebrating with you? Yes, God is OMNIPRESENT. You’re His child, He wants to be a part of your life. Not just in a certain area, not just on Sundays or happy days, no – every day! He is there for every day.

“And He is before all things and through Him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:17 NKJV)

“The eye of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3 NKJV)

““Can anyone hide himself in secret places so I shall not see him?” says the LORD.” (Jeremiah 23:24 NKJV)

So, if we were to build on that, we will be so strong in the Lord! Oh, the joy to know He is with you! Oh, the joy to know He IS in control! Oh, the joy…

The point of all of this is that it is mind boggling, abstract concepts, but because God says it is so in His Word, that should be enough for us. We shouldn’t need to question nor doubt it, because His Word is truth. Faith is still relevant, no matter how many years down the ‘saved road’; faith is still a necessity.

So be bold in the 21st century; have faith like a child and stand on what you’ve been given. Dig into the truths He reveals and relish it.
